The snowy season is nothing short of amazing in Northern Michigan, and Left Foot Charley Winery in Traverse City is inviting your family to enjoy the best of it at its upcoming Aprés Ski Party on February 12. Head to Mt. Holiday—the Traverse City community’s nonprofit recreational area—for a day of outdoor winter fun. Then, grab a toasty cider or chilled wine, cozy up by the fire and enjoy music by DJ Aaron of Avatar Media Productions.

Mouth-watering BBQ and Chef Kiel’s famous street tacos will be paired with beverages from Left Foot Charley’s award-winning selections. Don’t forget to bring your kiddos! There will be no shortage of outdoor fun, hot cocoa and, of course, kid-friendly cuisine.

All proceeds will benefit Mt. Holiday to help fulfill its mission of connecting the community through four seasons of affordable outdoor fun.

More questions? We’ve got it covered. Left Foot Charley and MyNorth caught up to dive further into the details behind the upcoming Aprés Ski Party.

Tell us why you are hosting this event?
Mt. Holiday is one of our favorite winter hangouts. The cozy firepits and mountain views pair perfectly with the delicious local wine and cider offerings at the bar. We love to embrace the outdoors this time of year and celebrate the snow and amenities we have in Northern Michigan, including delicious locally grown and made wine and cider.

What are some highlights?
We are setting up an outdoor grill with Chef Kiel! He is featuring some of his specialties: Smoked pork street tacos with sweet cabbage slaw and BBQ chicken sandwiches with caramelized onions and carrots. We are heating up Left Foot Charley’s best-selling cider, our Cinnamon Girl, and serving other fan-favorite whites and our Blaufrankisch (perfect with BBQ!). Team Bob’s donated firepits for us to warm up by, so it’s the perfect collaboration of community and fun.

How does your organization’s mission connect with this event?
We hold Mt. Holiday near and dear to our hearts. The mission of Mt. Holiday is to connect the community through four seasons of affordable outdoor recreation. We are supporting them in their goals of creating community-based, family-oriented, year-round recreational events. Plus, this is a fundraiser with all proceeds going to Mt. Holiday to maintain this community ski hill and offer opportunities for all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to ski and snowboard.
