Downtown Harbor Springs Ice Fest returns with live ice carving demonstrations, more than 30 ice sculptures, dueling chainsaws, horse-drawn hayrides, a chili cook-off and more. Plus, don’t forget to visit the Ice Throne!

February 11-12 | North American Vasa | Traverse City

The North American Vasa returns, continuing a 47-year tradition that celebrates cross-country skiing and winter sports. All races begin and end at Timber Ridge in Traverse City.

February 11 | Winterfest 2023 | Beulah

Celebrate the beauty of the winter in Northern Michigan. This festival features fun activities for all ages in Beulah’s Village Park, ranging from frozen turkey bowling to a parade. Then, end your day with fireworks over Crystal Lake.

February 11 | Abigail Stauffer | Cadillac

Gopherwood Concerts will host folk singer Abigail Stauffer at the Cadillac Elks Lodge. Her music and live performances evoke so much emotion, it’s hard to believe each song isn’t specifically about you.

February 11 | Valentine/Galentine Bouquet Workshop | Traverse City 

Create a beautiful bouquet at this Farm Club and IndieGrow Flower Farm Valentine’s Day workshop, featuring beautiful blooms and lots of creativity. Learn from Alissa Thomson about the art of making flower arrangements. All materials will be provided.

February 11 | Amical Cookbook Dinner Series | Traverse City  

Join Aminal for their Cookbook Dinner Series featuring “Mamushka Recipes from Ukraine & Eastern Europe” by Olia Hercules. This celebration of the food explores the tastes and traditions of Eastern Europe from the Black Sea to Baku, Kiev to Kazakhstan. The event starts at 4 p.m., and registration is required.

February 11 | Alpena Ice Fest | Alpena 

This frozen festival will be the hit of your weekend! The second annual Alpena Ice Fest will kick off this weekend at Mich-e-ke-wis Park, featuring plenty of family activities from 11 a.m. To 3 p.m. including a sledding hill, bonfire, graffiti ice wall, fat tire biking, sled dogs and more. Then, later on in downtown Alpena, enjoy an evening for the adults with an ice bar, music and firepits.

February 11 | Grass River Shiver | Bellaire

Go on a run or walk through the Grass River Natural Area as part of the Grass River Shiver 5/10K. This race is only a short distance from Traverse City and will take off at 10 a.m. for those who would like an official clocked time to complete their race. The course is open, however, if you’d like to go at a later time.
