For pumpkin donuts, we love Farmer White’s, Williamsburg, or Groleau’s and Potter’s in Traverse City. Our go-to cider is Northern Natural (based in Kaleva, but you can buy at Oryana). –Allison Acosta, Associate Editor, MyNorth/Traverse Northern Michigan magazine
Gallagher’s for donuts in Traverse City! My aunt lends her lifelong baking expertise in hand-making them in the fall there, and they are hands down the best I’ve ever had. Great for freezing and saving for another time when you’re craving a taste of fall. Delicious cider to pair with donuts there, too. –Olivia Fellows, digital producer
King Orchards in Kewadin is a soul-snuggling stop on your way home from a fall adventure. Their bakery/market serves up warm donuts and not just cold, but hot, cider—the perfect hand warmers on a chilly fall day. –Cara McDonald, executive editor, MyNorth/Traverse Northern Michigan magazine
Nugent Orchards is a great U-Pick (both pumpkins and apples) in Benzonia; or head to Pahl’s Country Store in Buckley for a hay maze, fresh donuts and cider, petting zoo and wagon/train rides. –Ann Gatrell, media consultant
Hubbell Farms in Williamsburg has a market packed with locally grown fruits, preserves, pies, muffins, cookies and breads—plus fresh donuts in the fall and locally sourced coffee to go with. –Jack Rowell, media consultant
What could be more fall than Starcut Cider’s apple-cider-donut cider (that’d be ACDC, for short)? It’s a caramelly hard cider with buzz. Pair with Third Coast Bakery’s sugared pumpkin donuts (delicious and gluten free). –Carly Simpson, managing editor, MyNorth/Traverse Northern Michigan magazine
With a red-barn backdrop and a cute beer garden, it’s about the vibe—Jacob’s Farm in Traverse City is the perfect setting for a fall snack of cinnamon-sugar donuts and a pint of cold cider or beer. –Ashlyn Korienek, marketing coordinator Â
